As we launch another year of timely speaker programs, I am indeed honored to begin my service as president of the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head. From an organization founded almost thirty years ago by a few Islanders who began discussions on U.S. foreign policy and global events, we have grown to be one of the largest World Affairs Councils on the East coast supported solely by member dues and contributions.
Our growth and success can be attributed to dedicated and visionary leaders who have responded to the interests and world views of Hilton Head Islanders. By acceptance of our invitations to national and international guest speakers we have, and will continue to inform our membership about mainstream issues that impact our daily lives and the fate of our nation.
