WACHH Sponsors AWQ Match March 3rd

In today’s globalized world, our high school students, soon to become the citizens of tomorrow, will be making foreign policy decisions  and guiding the United States’ position in international relationships.

The Academic WorldQuest program is designed to elevate the interest among students in international affairs through a team game testing their knowledge. Competing four-person teams are presented with multiple choice questions from ten unique and engaging thematic categories. The winners in the competition will receive prizes of significant value and use in their ongoing education.

The Beaufort County School District, our partner in the program, is providing the venue and staff as well as technical support. Students and teachers from the five county high schools have been selected to participate and are now in preparation for the event on March 3.

This will be our first step toward sponsoring Beaufort County student’s participation at the national level in future years.

Funds to support the cornerstone of our commitment to Outreach Education will be generated by contributions and at an Outreach Reception in the home of Lynne and Blaine Lotz in Sea Pines Plantation on Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 4-6 PM.
