ISLAM — A Discussion Group for Members
Recognizing the global interest in and significance of Islam today, The World Affairs Council of Hilton Head is offering its members a Fall Forum on Islam beginning in October. This forum will focus on three dimensions of Islam: religion, history and politics. Trained facilitators will guide participants in exploratory discussions of the issues facing both the Islamic world and the non-Islamic world.

Participants are required to read the text ISLAM: A Short History, a national bestseller written by Karen Armstrong. In addition, a recommended reading list of periodical articles and news reports relevant to the above topics will be made available to registrants.
Members must register for all 3 topics, and must select one day to attend, either Tuesday or Wednesday (see dates above). All discussions will be led by facilitators, and participants will be expected to be prepared to discuss the topics of each meeting. This program is limited to 60 registrations and will fill quickly.
