Ivan S. Bennett, M.Ed.
Ivan S. Bennett resided in Kentucky most of his life, where he attended Thomas More College and Xavier University. He received degrees in Psychology, Special Education, Counselor, Principal, and District Superintendent.
His career spanned 27 years in public education serving as teacher, counselor, assistant principal, assistant superintendent, director of special education, director of food service, director of pupil personnel and director of federal programs. His final years were served at the Kentucky Department of Education where he was Director of Federal Programs (Title 1 and VI). Ivan is also an ancestral member in the Order of the Crown of Charlemagne, Order of the Merovingian Dynasty, and Sons Daughters of Pilgrims.
Ivan retired in 1999 and moved to Hilton Head Island in 2008. He and Susan, his wife of 45 years are very active in the community. He has served on various committees and as an officer in the HH Property Owners Association, the Country Club of Hilton Head, the VanLandingham Rotary Club, the Sons of the American Revolution, the Sons of the Revolution, Friends of Savannah Wildlife Refuge, and World Affairs Council Hilton Head. Ivan and Susan have three sons, six grandchildren.
