A couple of quick reminders as we head into the month of May:
- Friday is our Distinguished Speaker series with Bill Taylor, former Ambassador to Ukraine, presenting “Russia’s War on Ukraine-Prospects for Peace.” Members do not have to register online unless you want to bring a guest (or two) for free. Log in to our website (wachh.org) and click on the event in our calendar and enter the information for your guest(s). We will do our best to have a name tag waiting for guests who pre-register when they arrive.
- May is membership renewal month as all annual memberships expire on June 1. We’ve fixed the computer glitch, and you can renew your membership by logging in to our website, clicking on your name at the top of the screen, then following the prompts to renew. If you have difficulty with the website (or do not like online renewal), Trey Ramsey and Joan Lemoine will be available Friday before and after Bill Taylor’s talk to assist you with renewing your membership.
- We are initiating a new type of discussion group on timely topics with a kickoff event on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. These groups will be interactive with a focus on significant current events. “The demise of USAID and implications for America’s future role in the world” is the first topic, with Bill Patterson, a WACHH Board Member and career diplomat with USAID leading the discussion. The tentative location is the WACHH office. However, we may need to secure a larger venue if more than twenty-five members register. Register using the link below.
As we conclude our Speaker Series for this year I want to thank you for your support of World Affairs Council of Hilton Head. Unfortunately, I cannot be there this Friday, but former President John Gilbert will serve as a stellar replacement emcee. Have a wonderful week!
