Bill Lloyd

Director Bill Lloyd  has served on the WACHH Educational Outreach Committee for the past four years. He was elected to the Board of Directors July1, 2011. Bill grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania . He earned his BA and MA in American History while working as a teaching assistant at Penn State University. He continued his studies and teaching at the  University of Wisconsin before accepting a position with the Great Books Foundation. Here, he was accountable for the organization and implementation of the Great Books discussion program in Illinois.

In 1969, Bill began his 30 year career with the Hay Group, an international management consulting firm specializing in human resource issues. Bill worked with a broad range of corporate clients and managed the six Hay Offices in the Midwest. He capped off his career with a stint in Australia where he managed Hay’s Australian offices including work in Papua New Guinea. Bill was elected partner in 1979. Following his retirement in 1993, Bill became active in the Special Olympics program in Missouri and in South Carolina.

Bill and his wife, Clara, became Hilton Head Islanders in 1997. He is a founding member of the Island Writer’s Network and has written and published five mysteries and a love story. Bill serves on the church council at St. Francis by the Sea.
