World Affairs Council of Hilton Head

While most of our funding comes from membership dues, dues do not cover all our expenses.  The pandemic demonstrated to us that membership dues are not guaranteed income.  Our membership was cut in half because of the pandemic, and our primary source of revenue dramatically decreased, while our expenses did not.  The Council works a year in advance to recruit speakers and plan quality programs that our members and the local community have come to enjoy and expect. Our Student Outreach programs are funded solely by donations. That is why your generosity is so important and necessary.  If you enjoy our programs, please consider making a tax- deductible donation today.

There are many different ways to support the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head and its programs.

Speaker Sponsorships

Partner with WACHH to showcase your business, enhance our programs and invest in our community. The Council now offers a variety of opportunities for businesses and community members to sponsor a national speaker at our Friday Speaker Series. Click on the link for details on how to become an individual sponsor or Business sponsor.

  • Businesses can sign up for a full year (14) or half year(7) sponsorships.
  •  Individual sponsorships are available for the 12 national speakers only.
  • Programs are limited to one Ambassador ($1000 level) and four Diplomat Sponsors ($500 level) per event.
  • Benefits include acknowledgement of your sponsorship, preferred seating at sponsored presentation, and invitation to private speaker dinner or luncheon.
  • Contact the WACHH office for more information about benefits of sponsorship and how to become a sponsor.

Student Outreach

WACHH is devoted to educating students in our community on issues of global importance. Sponsor Student Outreach programs when you donate, or add a donation when you join or renew your membership.

  • In our ever-changing world, the development of a globally informed citizenry is more important than ever. WACHH is proud to support Academic WorldQuest and Model UN (MUN), giving high school students in Beaufort County the opportunity to participate in these valuable programs.

Champions for Charity

You can support the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head through the Heritage Classic Foundation’s unique giving program, Heritage Champions Fore Charity.

  • The Heritage Champions Fore Charity program is a philanthropic initiative designed to grow the Heritage Classic Foundation’s charitable impact throughout the region. The goal of this exclusive program is to increase year-round support to the nonprofit organizations in our communities. The minimum contribution to a designated charity is $1,000. 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity of your choice. Heritage Classic Foundation will contribute an extra 10% on top of your donation.

Legacy Giving

By providing a grant to the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head through your donor advised fund, you enable us to amplify our reach in the community and produce quality programming on critical international issues.

  • A donor advised fund is a great option that will give you an immediate tax benefit. If you already have a Donor Advised Fund, you can make an outright gift to the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head, or designate the Council to receive a portion or all of the fund upon its termination.
  • If you’re interested in leaving a legacy that is meaningful for you, please contact Executive Director Maureen Korzik at or 843-384-6758.
