An Opportunity for WACHH Members
The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, which organizes all the Travel the World trips, has been offering tours to its members and to cooperating councils for more than thirty years. These trips offer all the highlights of touring plus access to political leaders and other local experts who give behind the scenes views and briefings that make their trips special and unique. Approximately 250-300 people travel on the 15 – 20 trips offered every year.
The WAC of Philadelphia began offering educational tours with their 1977 trip to the People’s Republic of China, when the group was among the first Westerners to enter this fascinating country. Since then, the WAC has designed frequent trips around the globe, visiting such diverse locations as Vietnam, Egypt, the Netherlands, Morocco, Antarctica, and Cuba, plus an annual “Inside Washington” five-night program of briefings, special events and cultural highlights.
Because of its reputation as one of the nation’s leading forums, the Philidelphia Council has established connections around the globe that allow them to offer members access that they can’t get when traveling alone or on other tours. Council leaders, who can draw on their expertise in the fields of diplomacy, journalism, or academia, accompany some tours as lecturers thereby providing added value to the experience.
Philadelphia’s Travel the World Program is a National Flagship Program of the World Affairs Councils of America. They can match your travel needs to specific tours. Call them at 800-942-5004, ext. 209 or 217.
