Bill was born and raised in Illinois and graduated from the U of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. After working in New York City and Chicago for Mobil Oil Corp, he obtained an MBA at the U of Illinois as well and subsequently completed the Advanced Management Program at Stanford University. He is a CFA, a Chartered Financial Analyst.
He joined Continental Bancorp, the largest bank in Chicago and 6th largest in the U.S., and spent 23 years in domestic and international banking and then served on the Management Committee of that organization. Continental had 93 international offices in 63 countries. He later served as CFO of a $30 billion bank, CEO of two other banking organizations and corporate and community boards.Other service includes trustee and board member of the U. S. Dept. of Interior Native American Trust Funds, President’s Council U. of Illinois, Brookings Institution Executive Program, Securities’ Industry and Banking Industry committees and task forces, and adjunct faculty member, undergraduate and graduate, at Indiana University and University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking.
Bill and his wife Lisa have owned a home on Hilton Head since 2005.
