Lee J. Wilwerding

Lee Wilwerding Lee Wilwerding  graduated from college with a B.A. in History and a commission as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.  His four years of active military service included serving in/commanding Postal units in Germany followed by a tour in Vietnam as a General Staff Officer in the 101st Airborne Division.

Released from active duty, he spent the next 40 years as a Practitioner and/or Consultant in Logistics/Supply Chain Management with Dayton-Hudson Corp (now Target), Ernst & Young Consulting, Fingerhut, Wal-Mart Logistics and i2 Technologies a Supply Chain Software provider.  His experiences ranged from managing truck fleets, building 1M square foot Fulfillment Centers and a 300,000 square foot Data Center, managing a corporate facilities portfolio of 7+M square feet, designing fulfillment networks for .com companies and designing/implementing inventory management software systems in the U.S. and Europe across diverse industries ranging from semi-conductors, tires, general retail, industrial threads and cell phones.

Concurrent with work in the real world Lee continued his military career in the Army Reserve an additional 24 years, with 17 years in various troop units in Minnesota, culminating with assignment as Chief of Staff of a 4500 soldier Infantry Brigade and then moving to the Pentagon for 7 years on the Army’s General Staff retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Lee & Ruth started on HHI as time-share owners in 1985, progressed to property owners in 1998, and after retiring, in 2009 to residents in 2010. 

Lee Wilwerding  served for six years as president of the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head Board of Directors from 2013-2019.
