Peter CooperPeter Cooper, a native of Buffalo, New York, earned his undergraduate degree in international politics from Princeton and later a master's degree in education from Harvard. He spent most of his career (31 years) working at American/International schools in major cities around the world. Peter was a teacher of history and English at several grade levels as well as a college counselor before becoming an overseas administrator for the last 20 years as headmaster in Bogota, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro. Upon moving to the United States in 2007, he worked as an interim headmaster for five years, three of them at Hilton Head Preparatory School. Both Peter and his wife, Pam, are fully retired but keep engaged by volunteering at various non-profit organizations. Both spend at least one morning or afternoon a week at Volunteers in Medicine, usually as interpreters. Currently, Peter is the treasurer of the Heritage Library, a premier genealogy and local history research center on Hilton Head. He is also a youth exchange officer for the Rotary Club that works with both inbound and outbound exchange students. |
