Clair Goddard

Clair GoddardClair Goddard joined WACHHI in 2021 and has been very active in discussion groups. He has facilitated the Fall Forum and Great Decisions. He and his wife Donna moved to Moss Creek full time in August 2020. They chose to retire to the area after many years of memorable family vacations at Palmetto Dunes.

Clair retired from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in July 2021 after a 42-year career in nuclear electric power generation. Prior to joining INPO in 1999, he worked for 21 years at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Massachusetts. He held several management positions of increasing authority, ultimately serving as the Plant General Manager responsible for safe and efficient station operation and maintenance.

INPO is an electric utility sponsored and funded organization founded by nuclear utilities following the Three Mile Island accident with a mission to promote excellence in safety and reliability in nuclear power plant operations. INPO is governed by a board composed of electric utility CEOs. While at INPO, Clair held several senior manager and executive positions that included leading INPO’s nuclear plant and corporate evaluation programs. He was elected Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy in 2015, responsible to the CEO for leading all corporate functions and also serving as the principal interface with the Board of Directors, including all Committees.

He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, an MBA from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA, and a Boiling Water Reactor Senior Reactor Operator Certification for Pilgrim Station. He is a veteran of the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Service.

Clair and Donna have been married nearly 49 years and have two sons and two grandsons. He is a member of the Moss Creek Owner’s Association Finance Committee. He enjoys playing golf, kayaking, and fishing. He and Donna are members of Providence Presbyterian Church. They enjoy spending time with their family at HHI and on family vacations.
