cINDY PETITT, Vice President
Cindy Petitt moved to this area from Northern Virginia in 2006. Since that time she has worked as a consultant, primarily with the World Bank Group and more recently with the UN and International Monetary Fund.
She started her career with the U.S. Department of Commerce in the International Trade Administration, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and Economic Development Administration. Then she worked for a federal financial regulatory agency (OCC), which she retired from as the head of Workforce Effectiveness with responsibility for leading the human resources, diversity & inclusion, and organizational improvement functions. Prior to that role, she was placed in several different director positions to turnaround the performance of faltering programs, and she co-led management of the agency’s strategic and operational planning for five years.
Cindy was Co-Chair of the U.S. Conference Board’s Financial Services Business Council, a Malcolm Baldrige Award examiner, significantly involved in initiatives to improve the Federal government, an active member of local business and economic development groups, and a board member of the Chatham Commerce Club in Savannah.
Cindy joined the Hilton Head World Affairs Council in 2017. One of her favorite activities is participating in and facilitating the Fall Forum and Great Decisions discussion groups. She received a BS in psychology from Centre College of Kentucky and a MS in Human and Organizational Development from American University.
