Rick Mitchell
He received his BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and his JD degree from Albany Law School of Union University. His legal career spanned over 44 years with several firms in Poughkeepsie, finishing as a partner in the regional firm of Rivkin Radler, LLC. The first part of his career was spent as a litigator primarily in bankruptcy court representing secured creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings. The balance was spent as a healthcare attorney representing providers, principally physicians and physician practices with respect to technical healthcare issues, mergers and acquisitions, as well as general corporate matters. While working in Poughkeepsie, Rick was very active in the community, having been Campaign Chair and Chair of the Board of the local United Way and Chair of the Board of the local Community Foundation. He also chaired the local Heart Association Board, was on the board of the New York State Affiliate of the American Heart Association, and chaired the Board of Family Services, Inc. Rick and Sue have three children and nine grandchildren. They have lived in Hampton Hall in Bluffton since 2018. |
