JOHN STROTHER, MARKETING COMMITTEE CHAIR

John Strother has possessed a lifelong interest in world affairs, a passion further sparked during his military service in Germany. Upon returning to the United States, he earned a degree in political science from James Madison University. His early professional journey took him to Puerto Rico, where he taught school, worked in the maritime industry, and was introduced to the visionary concept of Hilton Head Island while working at the Palmas del Mar resort—a community famously developed by Charles Fraser.

For over forty years, John has made the North Forest Beach area his home, building an extensive and respected career in the local development community. Throughout his four decades on the island, he has worked with prominent developers across premier communities, including Shipyard, Indigo Run and Oldfield. Being Broker in Charge for Hampton Hall, Riverton Pointe, Spring Island, and Latitude Margaritaville.

An engaged and dedicated member of the World Affairs Council of Hilton Head, John currently serves on both the Marketing and Development committees. He is an enthusiastic participant in the Fall Forum, Great Decisions, and the WACHH book club, deeply valuing the opportunity to discuss current events and learn alongside a membership comprised of individuals with incredible, diverse backgrounds in government and business.
